COVID-19 Emergency Rental Assistance Program
Available to City of Encinitas Residents (Persons with a valid Social Security number)
The City of Encinitas is offering assistance for rent to qualifying households who have been affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic.

We have limited funding remaining and the ability to fund additional residents.

Funding is provided through the City’s Community Development Block Grant Program and the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
Are you a renter in Encinitas whose income has been significantly reduced due to a loss of a job or change in works hours due to COVID-19?
Are having trouble paying rent/utilities because of the COVID-19 "stay at home" order?
If so, you might be eligible for assistance.
The City of Encinitas is now accepting applications for the COVID-19 Emergency Rental and Utility Assistance Program.
Payment Assistance Information
One-time payment of up to $4,500 to assist with past-due or upcoming rent and utilities.
Payment amount will be based upon demonstrated financial need.
Payments are made directly to the landlord and utility providers.
Utilities include trash (EDCO) and water (SDWD, OMWD).

Additionally, 2-1-1 San Diego provides a directory of numerous services and resources, especially related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Provide W-9 information for rental assistance payments.
Authorize the City of Encinitas to make payment.
Please note that landlord participation is voluntary. If a landlord does not wish to participate and/or complete the required forms, then the tenant will not be able to participate in the program and no rent payments will be made.
